Miller Receives Prestigious Cato Early Career Award

Ryan A. Miller, assistant professor of higher education, is the recipient of the Cato College of Education Early Career Faculty Award. The goal of the award is to honor the extraordinary work of a junior faculty member in the College of Education. Miller directs and teaches in the higher education programs at UNC Charlotte (M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Ed.D. Higher Education Concentration). He has published 25 journal articles and book chapters on issues of equity, diversity, and identity in higher education, with a focus on LGBTQ+ students and students with disabilities. Miller began his faculty position at UNC Charlotte in fall 2016 after working in higher education student affairs, most recently at The University of Texas at Austin, where he also received his Ph.D. in educational administration.
